The Story So Far…………….

The Vineyard
Vines at Sandy Farm were planted in 1988 and 1989. The vines are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Pinot Noir. The vines grow on slopes with a northerly and westerly aspect. The soil structure is basically a clay structure over sandstone shale. The vines are non-irrigated, low yielding, tightly pruned and self-sustaining. The vineyard is located at 610 metres above sea level.

The Winery
The Wines produced at Sandy Farm Winery are a Cabernet Merlot Blend and a Pinot Noir. All wine is matured in a mixture of French Oak and American Oak for between 12 and 18 months. All our wines are totally free of preservatives and agro chemical fertilizers. All wines are hand picked, hand plunged and basket pressed. Wines are extensively tested by the Australian Wine Research Institute located in Adelaide. This is Australia's premier testing Institute.
